This was the first of the cross scarves I’ve recently made. I love its simplicity, and as much as I love boro, there are some moments when I prefer something more simple, like this beauty here.

Made of organic linen, hand dyed in my indigo vat, she’s simple and extraordinary. Hand dying creates a more variegated look, vs. the one-dimensional look of bulk-dyed cloth (don’t get me wrong, I love all the linens in all the colors) The perfect gift to yourself. This one has texture and tone and depth. Striations of dark and lighter blue running parallel one another, creating a rich harmony of texture and hue. The still blue cross at its end has been hand stitched in steel thread. I love it. It’s simply perfect.
