OK, so, some back story. Ages ago, when I took my first metalsmithing classes, I designed this lovely. I had no idea that I would end up marrying metalsmithing years later (seriously, website aside, y’all, I always thought I would be a writer), but when I did, I vowed that this fabulous thing would be part of my first collection. Et voilà! Sterling silver in a good gauge, this hand-fabricated cuff (which may or may not be imbued with super powers), is so heart-stoppingly good. I’ve always felt like a superhero in mine, and I hope yours will activate the superpowers in you!

When you receive your beauty, slip it on and then you can slightly press it all around to mold it to the shape of your wrist. Don’t worry if it looks wonky when you take it off, so long as when it is ON, it fits you properly. Be gentle, yet firm. I’ve been wearing one of these for years, and it falls in exactly the right place whenever I wear it.

* Given the nature of handmade things, there will be slight differences when I remake a jewel, though I do strive to make them look as close to the one depicted in the photograph as humanly possible. I am the sole designer and producer of all of the jewels in my shop. All reproduced jewels will be made with the same quality materials and craftsmanship as the one photographed.

• This piece has been patinated and given a final seal with wax. To maintain the integrity of your new friend, please refrain from washing your hands while wearing (just push it up on your arm so that it’s not involved in your hand-washing), and avoid any situations where vigorous scrubbing or rubbing is involved. While it’s not exactly delicate, all patinated jewelry is vulnerable to abrasion and must be treated with care (this goes for all of the jewelry you buy in general).

• As we all know, sterling silver jewelry tarnishes. The best way to combat tarnish aside from wearing it—YES, actually wearing your silver prevents it from oxidizing— is to store your jewels in a zip-lock bag with the air squeezed out, and if you can add a little anti-tarnish slip with it, all the better. Incidentally, your lovely has been shipped in a zip-lock along with a little snip of anti-tarnish.

• Store your new lovely in the zip-lock bag along with the anti-tarnish snip, inside of the muslin provided with your order and she should remain pristine. Also, please store all of your jewelry alone to avoid your pieces rubbing against and scratching each other.
