Minimalist Bling
Minimalist Bling
So, there is this Korean technique called Keum-boo, where when the metalsmith does a little of this and that, an electron exchange at the surface occurs between sterling silver and 24K gold creating a permanent diffusion bond. It’s a demanding process that yields the most magnificent result. I have been working with Keum-boo in my studio (more fun things to come y’all), and it’s so incredibly satisfying. I was inspired by minimalist architecture when I came up with this idea. I wanted something clean and uncomplicated that would show off a pocket of gold that looked like it had survived an apocalypse and emerged triumphant. I think I can tick this off of my bucket list
1.5” tall (without the bail taken into account, with the bail it is 2 1/8” tall), 1 1/4” wide and just about a half inch thick. Hallmarked. Sterling silver and 24K gold leaf, paired with a sexy sterling silver snake chain.
This lovely is one of a kind!
Be in the know!
This piece has been patinated and given a final seal with wax. To maintain the integrity of your new friend, please avoid any situations where vigorous scrubbing or rubbing is involved (i.e., you may not want to wear this one in the mosh pit). While it’s not exactly delicate, all patinated jewelry is vulnerable to abrasion and must be treated with care (this goes for all of the jewelry you buy in general).
As we all know, sterling silver jewelry tarnishes. The best way to combat tarnish aside from wearing it—YES, actually wearing your silver prevents it from oxidizing— is to store your jewels in a zip-lock bag with the air squeezed out, and if you can add a little anti-tarnish slip with it, all the better. Incidentally, your lovely has been shipped in a zip-lock along with a little anti-tarnish snip.
Store your new lovely in the zip-lock bag along with the anti-tarnish snip, inside of the muslin provided with your order and she should remain pristine. Also, please store all of your jewelry alone to avoid your pieces rubbing against and scratching each other.
Please allow 10-12 days for me to receive your request and create your piece, unless you are purchasing one that is in stock, whereupon it will ship immediately. THANK YOU for buying handmade. May you always stand out in a crowd like the amazing being that you are! xo
